Festschrift Symposium in Honor of José Meseguer

Urbana, Illinois, USA, September 23-25, 2015

The Festschrift Symposium will take place in seminar room 2405 (second floor) at the Department of Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA. The precise location is The Siebel Center for Computer Science, located at 201 N. Goodwin Avenue, Urbana IL-61801.

The twin cities of Urbana and Champaign are located about 140 miles south of downtown Chicago. Champaign has an airport (Willard Airport, IATA code: CMI) with 6 daily flights to/from Chicago O'Hare, and one daily flight to/from Dallas, all with American Airlines. Unfortunately, other major airlines do not fly to CMI.

The airport at Bloomington-Normal is about an hour's drive from Urbana-Champaign. The larger airport at Indianapolis is about 2 hours' drive from Champaign. For most overseas visitors, the best option is probably either flying to Chicago O'Hare and drive from there (2 hours 40 minutes), or flying to Champaign (Willard Airport (CMI)). There is in principle a bus service between Urbana-Champaign and O'Hare airport, but it may involve long waits and the trip itself can take up to four hours, so I would not recommend that.

Here is a more detailed description of how to get to the Siebel Center.

FTSCS is hosted in Kyoto, the ancient former capital of Japan. Kyoto is home of several World Heritage Sites.

The workshop venue is Building No. 1 in the Kyoto Research Park at Tambaguchi Station. The station is one stop from Kyoto station on the JR San'in Honsen (JR Sagano line).

Kyoto is spectacular to see in autumn, as these photos can hopefully attest.
